I'm pretty sure no one has documented a factory 10vt swap into a car with B4 body work. There are PLENTY of sites offering BTDT with B2 and B3 cars, but not really any listing "gotcha's" on B3's with B4 sheet metal (aka, my S2-look CQ). Well, there will be! Going to add some text to my site probably next week.
Had to cut a large portion of the pass side lock carrier, this DELETES the locking mechanism on that side, which means you must run hood pins!!
Views of the air filter housing, that is a Jamex open element frame, which must have its mounts cut off and re-welded at slightly different locations for hood and IM clearance on the 5ktq air boot.
To fit the B4 tower braces, part of the battery box has to be cut. Same goes for clearancing the wastegate. The whole battery box will be cut-out after I get the other fabrication work completed.
Not much clearance between the S2 bumper, S2 IC, and crank pulley. Don't hit sh!t!
Misc. sheet metal I removed, as well as the hood lock springs.
6061 Aluminum for the IC piping. The one 90d elbow is a little "tight" but due to the 10vt's turbo placement, is needed.
Front view, shows relative placement of the IC. The IC runs from the bottom of the bumper behind the horizontal slots to right below the license plate recess. The only difference between this IC and the unit from an RS2 is the core length. RS2 is longer by a few inches. I'd like to find one!
Another placement shot.
